Thing #22--Conference Session Attended

During the past year, I have attended several conferences. The most interesting session I attended at a conference was a session at FETC entitled Microsoft--Free Apps, Free Guides, and Free Tools. This session was presented by Tony Franklin who works with developing educational tools for Microsoft Corporation.

I learned several new and free features available through Microsoft. Some new add-ins that are available with 2010 include: Learning Essentials for Educators, Math Worksheet Generator, Community Clips, Ribbon Hero, Mouse Mischief, PPt Plexs, and One Note. All of these freebes can be used with teachers in the core content areas.

Those of us who enjoyed this session were invited to attend some break-out sessions for Microsoft which were also presented by Tony Franklin. The one I enjoyed most was an overview of Cloud Computing.
